Establishment of the Lay Judge Leave System

The Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. has established the Lay Judge Leave System in accordance with the Furukawa Electric Group Basic CSR Policy(Note 1) in preparation for the commencement of the lay judge system on May 21, 2009.

Outline of the Lay Judge Leave System

  1. Purpose
    The Lay Judge Leave System has been established for the purpose of contributing to society by enabling Company employees to easily fulfill their societal responsibilities as a lay judge.
  2. Coverage
    All employees who work for the Company (including temporary workers and part-timers) will be eligible for the Lay Judge Leave System.
  3. Number of days granted
    The necessary period for engaging in duty when employees are chosen as a lay judge candidate, a lay judge or a supplementary lay judge.
  4. Leave treatment
    Leave to act as a lay judge will be granted separately from an annual paid holiday as a special paid holiday (100% paid).
