FASV, a New Production Base for Wire Harness in Vietnam Started Products Shipment

Furukawa Automotive Systems Vietnam (Abbreviated to FASV), a 100% owned company of Furukawa Automotive Systems Inc. (Head Office: Amago 1000, Kohra-cho, Inukami-gun, Shiga-pref.; President: Michitoyo Kurokawa; A 100% owned affiliated company of Furukawa Electric; Abbreviated to FAS) has recently started production and shipment.

Since FASV, being capitalized at five million dollars, was established last December as a production base for wire harness, the building construction, facilities installation and adjustment progressed as scheduled, and the first shipment of products was made recently. The site area is about 35,400 m2 and the facility area about 19,000 m2.

FASV is our second production base in Vietnam after Furukawa Automotive Parts Vietnam (abbreviated to FAPV) located in Ho Chi Minh City. FASV is located in the Giao Long industrial complex in Ben Tre Province which is situated in the Mekong delta region, and is about 90 km away south from Ho Chi Minh City. It is expected that labor force can be secured with ease, leading to stabilization of recruited members.

The startup of the plant will be promoted as scheduled hereafter, setting targets at 66 million dollars in the annual amount of sales, and 3,000 in the number of employees.
