In July 2009, JSC “Kirskabel” in “Uncomtech” group in Russia and Japanese company “Furukawa” have signed the Technical Assistant Agreement about the production of 110KV high voltage power cable.
From now, “Uncomtech” group will provide high-quality 110KV power cable to market by adopting the high-level production technique of “Furukawa” and “VISCAS”.(“VISCAS” is incorporated by “Furukawa” and “Fujikura” in power cable.)
In the beginning, “Kirskabel” has started to produce 110KV power cables which will be supplied for type-test.In the test, VISCAS's accessories and Japanese technique about jointing and installation will be used.
JSC “Kirskabel” is a Russian cable plant belonging to the “Uncomtech” Holding. The turnover of the plant in 2008 is more than 140 mln. USD.
JSC “Kirskabel” is producing a large range of cables and wires: power cables with PLC insulation, control cables, aerial bundled conductors, bare conductors for Overhead Power Lines, LAN cables, fire-resistant mineral insulated cables etc.
From now, Japanese side and “Uncomtech” plan to meet the expanding demand of high voltage cable in Russia, jointly by combining Japanese the high-level production technique with the wide sales network of “Uncomtech”, considering various strategic cooperation.
Also both side will continue working together for study new business in Russia.
“UNCOMTECH”'s turnover in 2008 is more than 450 mln. USD.
(In total of “Irkutskkabel” which is another cable plant, and “Kirskabel”.)
UNCOMTECH has 19 sales branches in CIS, and has number one market share in producing MV cable in Russia.
Japanese sides' turnover is as follows.
“Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd” 's turnover in 2008 is about 9,883 mln. USD.
“VISCAS”'s turnover in 2008 is about 938 mln. USD.
