Furukawa Industrial S.A. Produtos Eletricos (Parana, Brazil, President; Foad Shaikhzadeh, hereinafter, FISA), Furukawa Electric (TSE; 5801, ISIN; JP3827200001) Group, establishes Sales Company in the United Mexican State.

FISA celebrates 40 years in Latin America at this year and has expanded one of the largest providers of complete solutions for networks infrastructure in Brazil. By this decision, Furukawa Electric Group will make a full-scale entry into Telecommunications market in the northern portion of South America and Central America area and moreover expand its presence around of the world.

Background

Mexico is the second largest an economic country only to Brazil in Latin America and step up presence as an important manufacture hub for North America after ratification of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement). In addition, Mexico is expected to expand Telecommunication market under some relaxation of regulations.

Overview

FISA establishes new Sales Company for LAN solution in Mexico for the purpose of enhancing activities in Central America area. FISA has operated an optical cable factory in Argentina since 2008 outside of two plants (Curitiba, Parana and Sorocaba, Sao Paulo) in Brazil and will start to operate an optical cable factory in Republic of Colombia from August this year.
