The Automotive Technology Center conducts R&D on the constantly evolving in-vehicle transmission system technology for power and information. Many of these technologies have been adopted for the mass production of automobiles. The center maintains close contact with vehicle and automobile part manufacturers throughout the development process.
Message from the Manager
The mission of the Automotive Technology Center is to gather technologies from across the entire Furukawa Group and to develop automotive electronics that contribute to environmental preservation and improved safety as well as to expand profit in the automotive parts operations of Furukawa Electric.
We also maintain the vision of introducing innovation into data transmission controls of vehicles by 2015 and aggressively working on downsizing automotive parts toward reducing their weight and copper used in automotive electronic parts by half. Under this vision, we will further develop technologies currently possessed by the Furukawa Group, such as material and battery technologies, and strategically conduct intellectual property activities while constantly seeking to create new value. We will continue developing technologies that benefit customers by reducing cost and enhancing quality based on a commitment to social justice.
