Leading Smart Grid and Smart Community
Based on the energy transmission technologies including the ultra-high voltage and superconductivity technologies, polymer device processing technology and communication system technology, the Power & System Laboratories which started operation in 2010 as a result of the merger of the Ecology & Energy Laboratory with part of the FITEL Photonics Laboratory, aims at creation of solution proposal-based new products and new businesses covering the areas of new energy and new infrastructures such as smart grid and smart community.

Message from the Manager
The Power & System Laboratories intends in the future to provide new technologies and new products in the areas of new infrastructures and new energy management including smart grid and smart community, and to make contributions to realization of low-carbon society and resource-recycling society, identifying these aims from a global standpoint.
We are committed to provide multimodal solutions to create new businesses, by integrating our proprietary technologies including the energy transmission technology accumulated for more than one hundred years, the superconductivity and its application technology enjoying a worldwide reputation for more than forty years, together with the networking technology fostered by optical communication technology, one of our strong points.
