Satellite Solutions Leveraging Furukawa Electric’s Comprehensive Technological Expertise Developed Through Ground-Based Products

As the demand for communication and remote sensing services using satellites increases, the missions assigned to satellites are becoming increasingly sophisticated.
Therefore, it is necessary to increase the payload weight of mission equipment such as cameras and sensors, and bus components such as communication devices and On-Board computers are required to achieve further lightweighting, integration, and enhanced functionality.

Leveraging photonics technologies such as optical fiber cables and fiber lasers developed through years of research and development, heat dissipation technologies like heat pipes, power supply technologies, and comprehensive related technologies in design and manufacturing, we are working to provide new solutions that meet the miniaturization of devices and high-speed, large-capacity communication in the space domain.

To build flight heritage for satellite components such as Heat Pipe Module and On-Board Computer, we are jointly developing a demonstration satellite with the University of Tokyo.
