Restrictions related to the sick house syndrome

Outline

The amended Building Standard Law came into effect in July 1, 2003, setting out restrictions regarding sick house syndrome measures. It is important to note that Furukawa products do not pose any problem in this respect at all.

Our products fall into the category of “Olefin sheets” among the “finishing materials” set out in “Examples and Handling of Building Materials That Are Outside the Scope of Notification and Not Subject to Restrictions” issued by Building Guidance Division of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Therefore, our products are outside the scope of application of the Notification.

Regarding metallic roof products applied with supplementary adhesives (primers), FUNEN ACE uses an agent to which the Notification applies and FOAM ACE and FOAM ACESR use primers approved by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of FXXXX.

Precautions

The above concerns only our products, and does not include adhesives actually used when manufacturing metallic roofs. Please consult with the manufacturers of the materials you are using.

Almost all of the adhesives we use have been certified by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, so there should be no problem.
