MIHARU COMMUNICATIONS INC. Participation in transmission test for 8K video of the Sapporo Snow Festival
Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. recently participated in a "Transmission Test for 8K video of the Sapporo Snow Festival" in cooperation with Miharu Communications Inc. (head office, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President & CEO, Shunichi Nakamura) and Furukawa Network Solution Corp. (head office, Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President & CEO, Katsunori Tanibuchi). The test was carried out by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT)
The test was carried out from February 4 to 7, 2019, and linked multiple bases in locations such as Sapporo, Osaka, Tokyo and Okinawa. Tests were carried out for the multipoint distribution of images of a variety of resolutions, including 8K live video of the Sapporo Snow Festival venue.
