Announcement Regarding Flood Damage Due to Heavy Rains in Indonesia

This announcement is to inform you of the current situation regarding the impact of the heavy rains in Indonesia from December 31, 2019 to January 1, 2020, on Furukawa El ectric Group company operations.

1. Damage status

The headquarters and factory of TMS, a consolidated subsidiary of the Company located in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia, were damaged by flooding on January 2 and ceased operations. We are currently confirming the details of the damage, but no TMS employees were injured.

Decisions regarding future operations, including consideration of alternate production, will be made while monitoring the situation. We appreciate your understanding for any inconvenience this may cause.

We have confirmed that none of the Group’s production and sales bases located in Indonesia other than TMS have been seriously damaged by the heavy rains and that there are no operational problems.

2. Impact on business results

The impact of this flood damage on the Company’s consolidated business results will be negligible. We will promptly disclose any significant impacts on business results in the unlikely event such are expected.
