As a company that has been outstanding in encouraging the empowerment of women, Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. was chosen for the Nadeshiko Brand initiative, a joint initiative organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE).
The Nadeshiko Brand initiative is a joint initiative organized by METI and TSE to publicize those listed companies that have been outstanding in encouraging the empowerment of women as attractive stocks for investors who place importance on the growth of corporate value over the mid- to long-term. The initiative was launched in FY2012 as a way of promoting investment in selected companies and accelerating these types of initiatives among listed companies.
Selection takes place in two stages based on the rate of participation by women and financial indicators. One to four companies are chosen from each industry.
